Hello Everybody!
First, it is my blog one year anniversary! *blows with bells*
Second, it's almost christmas and I just can't wait for it. :)
Third, with my friend Chloë, we made some lovely christmas inspired cookies. Go visit the blog of Chloë: http://cchloelee.blogspot.nl/
Shall we start? :)

What you are going to need...

Basic ingredients:

○ 390 gram flour
○ 200 gram sugar
○ 7,5 gram salt
○ 7,5 gram baking powder
○ 227 gram butter
○ 10 ml vanilla extract
○ 2 eggs

Decorations things:

○ icing sugar
○ decoration thingies
○ Food colouring
( just choose some colours you like )

What to do?

1) Get a big bowl and put the butter in it. Cream it until it's all smooth.

2) Add the sugar in the bowl and cream the sugar with the butter together until it's light and fluffy.

3) Next you add in two eggs, one a time, and mix it after each addition.

4) After mixing it, add the vanilla extract.

5) If you have mixed that, you need to put away this bowl and start with a new big bowl for the dry ingredients.

6) Put the flour, baking powder and salt together in it and use a whisk to mix them together.

This is what you have so far:

7) Add dry ingredients to wet in little portions, amount depends on the size of your bowl.

Mix it until it looks like this.

 8) If the dough get too thick, try to use your hands. It should look like this picture.

9) Go and get some plastic wrap and divide the dough in two pieces. Wrap it in and put the dough in the fridge for 20 minutes.

10) When 20 minutes are over, get your dough out of the fridge and put some flour on your table or anywhere flat. Remove the plastic wrap and put the dough on the flour. Then start making shapes out of the dough.

Tip: Use baking parchment sheets because that's just easier.

After making shapes in the dough, this is what we got:

So, it was a little disaster about the time and temperature because we didn't know exactly what the correct time was. So we just switched the temperature a couple of times. It was between 150˚c and 220˚c.

After we popped the cookies in the oven, we started making the frosting.

How to make your own frosting:

1) Do a large amount of icing sugar into a clean bowl.

2) Then pour a little water in the bowl and stir it with a spoon.

After that it should look like this.

Don't use too much water! In case you did, try to put more icing sugar in the bowl. It's better to use more icing sugar than to use water.

We also decided to use some food colouring so the cookies will look more festive.

This one has to be red frosting but at the end it became pink...

The results:

After the cookies were baked we have decorated them with the frosting and sweets and decorations thingies.

Tadaa, your christmas cookies are done! Some of them look really weird but hey you can't be good in everything haha. If I can give you a tip, please don't use all the ingredients, just replace it with baking mix. That's so much faster.
But I hope you liked this blog collab with Chloë and if you're going to make them, leave it in the comments.

Have a nice day!

X Gwendolyne
